This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It’s titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills.
That’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
Course Level: Continuing Education
Duration : 3 days (2-3 days with eLearning)
PADI Open Water Divers or (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old are ready to step up and enroll in an Advanced Open Water Diver course. Young divers may only participate in certain Adventures Dives – check with your Polhena Diving PADI Instructor.
If you’re already an Adventure Diver, you only need to complete two more Adventure Dives to earn the Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Upon completion, you will be eligible for the PADI Rescue Diver Course.
You can start the course even before you visit the dive center with eLearning! This will reduce the course time and also give you access to comfortably finish your theory portion at home.
There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives.
If the time is not a problem for you, you can start your Advanced Open Water Diver course by visiting the dive center.
1st Day
Duration: 7a.m. to 2p.m.
You will start by filling out the paperwork, and registering with PADI. Please note that we take full payment for the course on the first day. Read more on our refund policy by clicking here.
Unlike the Open Water Diver course, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course has few theory parts and it mainly focuses on improving your skills as a diver. After briefings with your diving instructor, you will depart to our dive sites to do your first two scuba dives! usually the Deep and Underwater Navigation Speciality.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
2nd Day and 3rd Day
Duration: 7.00 a.m. to 2p.m.
You can choose three dives from the following adventure dives we have.
Our Top Picks for those three adventure dives are Search and Recovery, Fish Identification and Peak Performance Buoyancy.
We usually try to do 2 dives in the morning and the remaining 1 dive in the afternoon and try to complete the course in 2 days. However, depends on your theory learning and/or the weather conditions we postpone the last dive for the third day morning.
Upon Successful completion, we will issue you the certification online. With this qualification, you can dive up to 30 Meters with a buddy.
