We are the only PADI affiliated scuba diving center in Matara. Started in 2016 and becoming a PADI certified dive resort in 2018 we strive to provide a fun filled yet professional service to our clients following the industry standards.
Polhena Diving Center is one of the 19 PADI Dive Resorts located in Sri Lanka.
We focus on catering to small groups instead of mass scuba tourism.
We at Polhena diving center believe that scuba diving is fun when it is not over crowded. This way you are more relaxed, and you can be familiar with all the faces, including your fellow divers and the dive crew.
Also you don’t have to be stressful underwater, you have a small group who always stick by you, you don’t have to look for your divemaster and if there is an emergency underwater (very rare!) it is easy to handle.
We use ScubaPro MK2 regulators as our preferred scuba regulators. Apart from that, we limit ourselves to Cressi and Mares brands when it comes to our BCDs and other technical equipment.
All the equipment are subject to regular quality and performance checkups, and we have spare parts available for on-site replacements.
We use full foot scuba diving fins ranging from UK size 6 to 47. Emergency oxygen setups are installed in the dive center premises.
We like to see our guests as a part of the dive family. When you are here, you are not just a customer, you are one of us.
From the dive center manager to the compressor technician, you will get to know us all during your stay with us.
after scuba diving, you can drop by the dive center to have a good chat with our crew over a coffee. Better yet! After couple of days you will go straight to the kitchen to make yourself some toast and share it with the crew. We know it sounds too good to be true, but you realize it once you find yourself middle of our small BBQ parties and Movie nights!

Polhena Diving Center is proud to be one of the active ambassadors for the ocean among the dive businesses in Sri Lanka.
Portion of our earnings go towards our frequent underwater cleanups and Beach cleanups. We also collaborate with our fellow neighbourhood businesses to educate people about the importance of marine conservation and have been working towards being a village with less plastic consumption.

Due to the Monsoon season on the southern coast, We have moved the dive center to Trincomalee. We operate under the name “Coco Diving” in there!
