PADI Open Water Diver
PADI Open Water Diver is your licence to dive. You learn the theory, practise skills in calm water, then complete four open water dives with your instructor.
Do the theory with us in the classroom, or start PADI eLearning at home so your holiday time is spent in the water. Once certified you can dive with a buddy to 18 m anywhere in the world.
Course outline
- Day 1Theory and equipment
Classroom or eLearning review, safety briefing and an introduction to your gear.
- Day 2Confined water
Build your skills and confidence in shallow, calm water.
- Day 3Open water dives 1 and 2
Two training dives at local reef sites with your instructor.
- Day 4Open water dives 3 and 4
Your last two dives, a short exam and your certification.

Before you book
- Age 10 or older (10–14 certify as Junior Open Water Divers).
- Able to swim 100 m and float for 10 minutes.
- The PADI medical questionnaire. Some conditions need a doctor's sign-off.

- Courses start at 8:30 am and run on consecutive days. Allow a spare day in case the sea is rough.

- PADI eLearning is paid to PADI and is not refundable.
- Pay on the day in cash or by card. Card payments have a 3% fee.
