This is a one-day PADI program that offers you the experience of Scuba diving up to 12 meters, although it does not result in a certification, it can be credited as your first open water dive towards your PADI open water certification. This program is perfect for people who are interested in finding out what it is like to breath underwater and experience the underwater world.
8.00A.M: We will meet at the Polhena Diving Center.
There will be a Discover Scuba Diving registration form to fill and a liability release form to complete. This liability form ensures that in a case of angry shark munches you, we will not held accountable. (Kidding! Unfortunately we don’t have sharks here and they are not evil as the movies depict! After filling the forms, You can step inside our little classroom to watch a short video about Discover Scuba Diving, This video will brief you about the proper practices, methods, and other basic guidelines.
Once you finish the video, your instructor will take over, and you can join them to choose your scuba gear, and learn more about what you will be doing.
Once you will finish the Discover Scuba Diving theory with your Instructor, they will accompany you to our Madiha Beach, a small shallow house reef where you can train basic skills. The three main skills that you will be learning are,
If you are comfortable demonstrating your in water skills, then it is time to jump on the boat and go out for a dive! You will be diving with an instructor and if there is a group, you will be accompanied by additional instructors and/or Divemasters according to PADI Discover Scuba Diving guidelines.
After the dive, the boats will return to the shore around 11.30a.m.
The dive shop is equipped with indoor showers and outdoor showers, you can award yourself with a freshwater washdown and Try a good cup of coffee or Tea afterwards, while having a good chat about your day in the water.
If you were considering doing a PADI Discover Scuba Diving or a try dive, then the answer to the question is NO.
However, For PADI Scuba Diving Courses, Swimming as a skill is required.
For the first training dive in the shallow beach, it will be 5 to 10 minutes or slightly more. It depends on how comfortable you will be learning the skills.
The actual dive in our dive site will last around 30-40 minutes. This time depends on your breathing. First time divers tend to consume more air than certified divers. The important thing is to enjoy your dive regardless of your underwater time 😉
We have a 8.00a.m. trip and a 12.00p.m. trip
But please note 12.00p.m. trip is highly subjected to the changing wind conditions and weather conditions. So please contact us before making plans for the 12.00p.m. trip.
A swimsuit or a pair of shorts, if you are planning to have dry clothes after the diving, maybe an extra pair of dry clothes.

If you tend to get motion sickness it is recommended that you take motion sickness pills prior to diving.

Yes. But they will be subjected to a Tuk-Tuk/Taxi fare.
The dive center do not make any revenues from the transport services. We use our friendly neighbourhood taxi drivers and coordinate with them. The money will go directly to them without any deductions/commissions.
Yes. Actually it is a good idea to eat light before a dive. It is not recommended to have a full heavy meal before a dive.
No. Alcohol consumption is not recommended before a dive. It is recommended that heavy drinking should be avoided the evening before.
For the depths and times of the Try diving program and the Discover Scuba Diving program you can fly after 12 hours if you participate in just 1 dive and after 18 hours if you participate in 2 dives in a day, according to International diving rules.
your maximum depth is 12 meters with a direct supervision of a PADI instructor.
According to law, persons can dive from 10 to 60 years old. A minor from 10 till 18 years old will need written consent from parent or guardian to dive with us.
