The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s most popular scuba certification program, and your ticket to explore the ocean with confidence. With Polhena Diving Center, you can complete your training in a relaxed, safe environment guided by our certified PADI instructors.
Choose between classroom learning (our base course) or PADI eLearning, which lets you complete the theory portion online at your own pace before arriving in Sri Lanka for the practical sessions.
By the end of the course, you’ll earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters anywhere in the world.
What to Expect:
Knowledge Development:
Learn the basics of scuba theory, equipment use, and dive safety through either classroom sessions or PADI eLearning.Confined Water Training:
Practice key scuba skills in shallow, controlled conditions until you’re comfortable and confident.Open Water Dives:
Complete four open-water dives at stunning local sites such as Moray Point and Rock Wall under the direct supervision of your instructor.Certification:
Successfully complete your final skills assessment and earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification card.
Day 1 – Theory & Equipment Orientation:
Classroom or eLearning review, safety briefing, and introduction to dive gear.Day 2 – Confined Water Sessions:
Skill development and confidence-building exercises in shallow water.Day 3 – Open Water Dives 1 & 2:
Two training dives at selected reef sites under instructor supervision.Day 4 – Open Water Dives 3 & 4 + Final Exam:
